The Renovation of San Antonio's Historic St. Anthony Hotel

A Texas Jewel Reborn

After an extensive renovation and restoration was undertaken to restore The St. Anthony Hotel to its former glory, the hotel engaged The CE Group to help reveal the results of the restoration, rebrand the hotel, restore the property’s image and connect with new audiences through a yearlong campaign.

A series of events were designed to excite loyal fans, while also introducing the iconic property to new audiences. Campaigns included Dusting off a Legend (the hotel’s history book unveiling with author signing and sneak peak tour); An Evening with Cesar Galindo Fashion Show; and the Grand Sabrage Ceremony and Celebration. 

CE PR courted local influencer audiences to create and leverage partnership opportunities. CE PR developed targeted media and VIP mailing lists for all opening events to make certain the hotel was filled with the region’s leading movers, shakers and influencers once more. Additionally, CE PR created the strategy and messaging behind the Grand Sabrage ceremony, which included various VIP speakers from the city and the hotel.

CE PR created an award-winning media kit to reach audiences, including local and mainstream media, travel and tourism outlets, as well as hotel industry press. The media kit articulated the vast history of The St. Anthony, while introducing the owners and bringing light to the extensive renovation. 

CE PR designed a social media plan for the hotel, greatly increasing the St. Anthony’s followers across various social media platforms. The CE social media team was later retained by the hotel’s ownership group, BC Lynd, to train all six hotels under the BC Lynd umbrella in social media strategy.

CE PR worked tirelessly with media throughout the contract securing no less than 131,078,785 media impressions. The campaign was a resounding success, landing impressive coverage across print, television, radio and online outlets. The highlights include a nod from Travel + Leisure magazine putting San Antonio on its list of best places to travel in 2017, citing The St. Anthony renovation as a reason to consider visiting. Additional media highlights include the hotel mentions in Texas Monthly, Forbes, Meetings and Events International, USA Today, Texas Highways, The Austin Chronicle, Dallas Morning News and many more.
