San Antonio-based The CE Group Inc. is ramping up its sports marketing client roster announcing its multi-year contract as events manager for the Women’s Final Four fan events.
The CE Group is a full-service agency, known for its expertise in positioning, planning, promoting and producing large-scale events and strategic marketing programs.
Part of The CE Group’s charge will include management and execution of the NCAA’s rebranded Tourney Town (formerly known as Hoop City).
“We want to build on the wonderful experience we had last year (in San Antonio) and make sure that fans in Indianapolis and future host cities — whether attending the games or not — can experience all the excitement of a Women’s Final Four,” says Christa Scannell, director of national sports marketing, The CE Group.
Sue Donohoe, NCAA vice president of Division I women’s basketball, is enthusiastic about the re-launch of the fan experience and carrying that same energy to Indianapolis in 2011.
“Tourney Town was the focal point for fan and community activities during the 2010 Women’s Final Four…it was a big success, due in large part to The CE Group,” Donohoe says.
The CE Group has also been tapped to produce the annual Salute Premiere, featuring the student-athletes of the four participating institutions and manage the Champions4Women Forum, an event that focuses on women’s empowerment.
“The Women’s Final Four is the most prestigious event in women’s sports. To work with the staff and committee to enhance the fan experience through Tourney Town and other events is a tremendous honor,” says Janet Holliday, president and CEO, The CE Group Inc. “We are proud to be on the team going forward.”
